Dr Taye Gari has extensive experience in clinical and public health work in south Ethiopia. He was trained in public health and has good experience as a clinician, university lecturer and research work in infectious diseases, nutrition and climate variation effect on health.
From 2013 to 2017, he was responsible for carrying out the fieldwork of a large malaria prevention trial. This work, supported by the Research Council of Norway, Project no 220554, included the close follow-up of over 6000 households for about three years with weekly home visits.
From 2021 to 2023, he coordinated the Research Council of Norway-funded Co-producing Gender-responsive Climate Services for Enhanced Food and Nutrition Security and Health in Ethiopia and Tanzania (COGENT).
He has over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and recently co-supervised seven PhD and Eight master’s students.
